Amidst the pandemic, Robert Bateman and Phil Ypres-Smith, both friends and creatives, engaged in a conversation spurred by their personal encounters with mental health challenges. Recognizing shared experiences, they took the initiative to establish their own theatre company.

 

Designed as a creative haven, Obsidian, their brainchild aims to foster thriving experiences for all involved, bringing unforgettable theatre experiences to both participants and audiences alike.

 

Obsidian is dedicated to showcasing obscure and lesser-known productions that delve into challenging subjects like mental health, abuse, and suicide, as these are topics very close to our hearts.
